GAMIAN-Europe’s 2024 Annual Report: Strengthening Advocacy Through Events, Research, and Community

GAMIAN-Europe is pleased to share its 2024 Annual Report, showcasing a year marked by meaningful progress, strengthened partnerships, and a deepened commitment to mental health advocacy across Europe.

The report offers a detailed account of its work over the past year, from awareness campaigns and policy engagement at the EU level through the European Mental Health Intergroup to its growing involvement in European research projects, where GAMIAN-Europe continues to advocate for the voice of patients in policy and research. The 2024 activities reflect its mission to put lived experience at the heart of mental health systems, ensuring that services and policies are shaped by those they affect most.

A major focus in 2024 was on events and outreach. Throughout the year, GAMIAN-Europe organised and participated in numerous events, both in-person and online, that brought together policymakers, experts, and individuals with lived experience. These included webinars, expert workshops, conference and congress presentations, and EU-level roundtables, all designed to strengthen visibility and push mental health higher on the political agenda.

This year’s report also captures the work and contributions of our member organisations across Europe, highlighting their grassroots initiatives, national-level advocacy, and collaborations with GAMIAN-Europe. A special feature is included on our 2025 General Assembly in Brussels, which served as a key moment for connection, strategy-setting, and community building.

In addition, the report covers our continued growth in digital engagement, with increased reach and interaction across our social media channels, helping to foster public conversations on mental health and connect more people with our work. It also features a full financial overview, reinforcing our values of transparency and accountability across all areas of work.

GAMIAN-Europe extends its sincere thanks to members, partners, funders, and supporters across 26 countries. The achievements outlined in this report would not be possible without your continued trust, input, and collaboration.
