Gathering insights
You can share experiences and gain deeper insights into mental ill-health conditions and its treatments, including medical, psychiatric, psychological, psycho-social, pharmacological, and complementary approaches
Full membership
Non-profit body or organisation- A quarterly newsletter providing useful and up to date information on treatments and activities.
- Attend our annual convention where we are able to sponsor the travel cost up to 400 €.
- Participate in pan-European surveys.
- Participate in training programs of particular relevance to patient organisations.
- Influence the thinking of national and European politicians and civil servants within the mental health field and to raise awareness of the problems experienced by people with mental ill-health conditions.
Associate membership
Any company, organisation, body or individual- A quarterly newsletter providing useful and up to date information on treatments and activities.
- Attend our annual convention where we are able to sponsor the whole travel cost up of at least one delegate.
- Participate in pan-European surveys.
- Participate in training programs of particular relevance to patient organisations.
- Influence the thinking of national and European politicians and civil servants within the mental health field and to raise awareness of the problems experienced by people with mental ill-health conditions.
Membership fee:
- as individual: 100 €/year,
- as non-european association 100€/year,
- as family association: 150 €/year,
- as professionals association: 250 €/year
- corporate membership: 4.900 €/year

All organisations or persons, being personally or professionally involved in the field of Mental Health can become member of GAMIAN-Europe.
To encourage and promote information, education and awareness on current knowledge of the treatment and support available to those affected by mental ill-health having regard to the latest evidence based material.
To support and engage in research projects pertaining to mental illness and the dissemination of the results of such research.
To offer assistance to member organisations when required and develop support and training mechanisms for their members. Regarding decision makers it is extremely important to fall back on a real societal support. The same goes for fundraising.
Criteria for full membership are defined in art 6 of the statutes:
Any non-profit body or non-profit organisation, concerned with or engaged in support of patients with mental ill-health and those who care for them, having patient representation on its board and having activities realising patient participation shall be eligible for full membership provided they are resident or based in Europe. (WHO definition)
