Full membership
Any non-profit in Europe that supports people with mental illness, includes patient representation on its board, and promotes patient participation may apply for full membership.A quarterly newsletter providing useful and up-to-date information on treatments, activities of the organisation and its members, activities of governmental and other bodies operating within Europe and miscellaneous items about mental health.
The opportunity to attend our annual convention, where we can sponsor travel costs up to 400€ and the full hotel costs for at least one delegate from each member organisation.
The opportunity to participate in pan-European surveys on various aspects of mental health, with a strong focus on quality of life and other issues specifically aimed at patients.
The opportunity to participate in training programs of particular relevance to patient organisations working within the mental health field.
The ability to influence the thinking of national and European politicians and civil servants within the mental health field and to raise awareness of the problems experienced by people with mental health conditions.
Associate membership
Anyone supporting GAMIAN-Europe’s aims and works to improve mental health may become an associate member if they agree with its Statutes.A quarterly newsletter with updates on treatments, organisational and member activities, European policy, and other mental-health news.
The opportunity to attend our annual convention, with travel, accommodation and meals covered by the member organisation.
The chance to take part in pan-European mental-health surveys focused on quality of life and patient-centred issues.
Participation in mental-health training programs relevant to patient organisations.
The ability to influence national and European policymakers and raise awareness of challenges faced by people with psychiatric conditions.
Supporting partners
Open to industry partners, mental health foundations, and other organisations active in the mental health field.Receive comprehensive reports and regular updates on the progress, outcomes and impact of the projects they support.
Receive the GAMIAN-Europe newsletter, outlining the patients’ perspective on EU (mental) health developments, and other policy documents/publications relating to advocacy, as also published on the GAMIAN-Europe website.

as an individual: 100 €/year,
as a non-European association, 100€/year,
as family association: 150 €/year,
as a professional association: 250 €/year
as a research institution: 250 €/year


An invoice for the yearly membership fee will be send after acceptance of your membership by the membership committee.
All organisations or persons, being personally or professionally involved in the field of Mental Health can become member of GAMIAN-Europe.
To encourage and promote information, education and awareness on current knowledge of the treatment and support available to those affected by mental ill-health having regard to the latest evidence based material.
To support and engage in research projects pertaining to mental illness and the dissemination of the results of such research.
To offer assistance to member organisations when required and develop support and training mechanisms for their members. Regarding decision makers it is extremely important to fall back on a real societal support. The same goes for fundraising.
