As part of its continuing activities, GAMIAN-Europe collects and processes personal information about members and staff of organisations it connects with.

  • Your name, address, telephone number, organisation and email address.
  • If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
  • We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.
  • Details of your visits to our websites and the resources that you access.

GAMIAN-Europe processes this information in light of its legitimate interests, namely to maintain and administer our relationship with your organisation, to manage ongoing joint activities and to consider future collaboration.

GAMIAN-Europe will endeavour to protect any personal information you may provide on the public areas of this website to ensure it remains confidential, and is used only for the purpose described on our site.

Where do we store your data?

All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our websites; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

How do we use your data?

Any information that you supply to GAMIAN-Europe or data that we collect will be processed by or on behalf of GAMIAN-Europe. You agree that we may, and we confirm that we will only use, the information you provide to us or the data that we collect for the following reasons:

Right to access

Data subjects shall have access to the source of their personal data, a copy of the data that is being processed, processing information (who, what, when, where, why), and confirmation of automated decision making.

Rectification

Data subjects shall be able to correct, complete and update their personal data. This covers objectively and subjectively incorrect data (i.e. the ability to challenge a bad performance review).

Data subjects shall be able to specify limitations to rights of access and rectification, within certain parameters

This is an extension of the access right. Data subjects have the right receive their data in a structured and machine-readable form, and they also have the right to request a transfer of their data to another provider.

Erasure

Data subjects have the right to have personal data erased if it is no longer necessary for the purpose. They also have the right to withdraw consent

Right to be forgotten

This is an extension of the right to erasure, and entitles data subjects to have their personal data removed from indexes, i.e. Google.

Access to information

The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act.

GAMIAN-Europe takes all reasonable security measures to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, destruction, misuse, modification or disclosure. As far as permissible under law, GAMIAN-Europe accepts no responsibility for the unauthorised access of personal information held by GAMIAN-Europe.

If you require your record to be removed or amended, please write to the GAMIAN-Europe Secretariat at the address below with proof of identification.

You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data.  You can also exercise the right at any time by contacting our secretariat at secretariat@gamian.eu
