Kinapsy: A Year of Rebirth

Originally founded in 2006 to support siblings of people with mental health conditions, Kinapsy underwent a significant structural transformation following a period of inactivity. The year 2025 marked a pivotal turning point for the organisation, dedicated to its official relaunch and reorganisation. A key milestone was the organisation of its first electoral and financial General Assembly, which formalised its renewed governance structure and operational framework.

Throughout the year, Kinapsy focused on advocating for the often-overlooked role of siblings in the mental health journey. This commitment was reflected in a series of digital awareness campaigns aimed at breaking the silence surrounding siblings’ experiences and increasing their visibility within the broader mental health discourse.

Building on this momentum, Kinapsy also strengthened its European engagement through collaboration with international partners. On 5 March 2026, the organisation submitted three Erasmus+ project proposals, each addressing key gaps in mental health support and inclusion. The project Donner la Parole (Giving a Voice) focuses on promoting inclusive communication and self-determination for people with disabilities or mental health conditions. SAMENTA aims to protect the mental health of informal caregivers and prevent burnout through stronger support networks. Force Invisible (Invisible Strength) seeks to recognise and empower young carers aged 18-25 by transforming their lived experiences into sources of resilience and strength.

Kinapsy looks ahead to this new chapter with renewed energy and remains committed to strengthening collaboration within the GAMIAN-Europe network.
