Register now: Migraine & Mental Health: A Call for Integrated Care Webinar (18 September 2025)

One of GAMIAN-Europe’s longstanding priorities is the intersection between migraine and mental health – a topic we have explored through surveys, workshops, expert webinars, and awareness campaigns. In 2023, we held a webinar dedicated to “Migraine and Mental Health in Women: Addressing the Challenge,” and in 2024, we launched a comprehensive campaign and policy report on the issue.

This year, we are pleased to invite you to a follow-up online discussion titled:

“Migraine and Mental Health: A Call for Integrated Care”
🗓️ 18 September 2025 | 🕑 14:00–16:00 CEST | 💻 Online

The webinar will revisit key findings from our recent research in partnership with the European Migraine and Headache Alliance (EMHA). Our latest report highlights the bidirectional relationship between migraine and mental health conditions, particularly anxiety and depression – and the substantial economic and social costs linked to this comorbidity. Participants reported frequent and debilitating migraine attacks that profoundly impact their daily life, relationships, and mental wellbeing, often facing stigma in both healthcare and workplace settings.

During this event, you will hear from leading clinicians, researchers, and patient advocates, including:

  • Elena Ruiz de la Torre, Executive Director, EMHA
  • Dr Chiara Samele, Consultant, GAMIAN-Europe
  • Prof. Dimos-Dimitrios Mitsikostas, Co-chair, Headache Scientific Panel, EAN
  • Dr. med. Reto Agosti, CEO and Chief Physician, Headache Center Hirslanden, Specialist in Neurology

The panel will explore what is needed for more holistic, integrated care, and offer policy recommendations to improve support and research on this pressing issue. A policymaker intervention and closing call to action will round off the discussion.

📝 The event is free and open to all – REGISTER HERE to secure your spot!
