Brain Awareness Week 2025

Introduction

For Brain Awareness Week (BAW) 2025, GAMIAN-Europe reaffirms its commitment to empowering individuals with lived experiences of mental and brain health challenges. Building on the momentum of the past three years, this initiative continues to provide patients with the tools and confidence to become advocates for the vital connection between mental and brain health. By amplifying their voices, we aim to foster greater understanding, challenge misconceptions, and reduce stigma across society.

This year, we have co-created with experts a visually engaging and accessible advocacy roadmap to guide individuals in taking simple yet impactful actions to advocate for mental and brain health. Launched during BAW, the first phase of this roadmap will focus on engaging policymakers, equipping advocates with actionable tips on how to effectively communicate key messages and influence decision-making.

Beyond Brain Awareness Week, we will continue this advocacy effort throughout the year by tailoring our approach to different target groups, ensuring that the message of mental and brain health awareness reaches diverse audiences across Europe.

Subsequent phases of the roadmap will expand to community leaders and educational institutions, ensuring a broader societal impact. Designed for ease of use, the roadmap will be available as a downloadable infographic, making it easy to share both online and offline.
