REMESOS seeks lived experience representatives from Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina

GAMIAN-Europe, on behalf of the REMESOS – Resilient and Mentally Healthy Societies project, we are inviting individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges from Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to join the project’s Lived Experience Advisory Board.

REMESOS (2025–2028) is a project co-funded by the European Union under the EU4Health Programme. It aims to strengthen mental health and resilience across Europe by combining community-based, peer-led mental health support with improved measurement of mental health and well-being at the population level. The project brings together 12 partners from 9 European countries, including public health institutes, universities, civil society organisations, and organisations representing people with lived experience, such as GAMIAN-Europe.

About the Lived Experience Advisory Board

The Lived Experience Advisory Board plays a central role in REMESOS. Its purpose is to ensure that the perspectives of people directly affected by mental health challenges inform the development, outcomes, and dissemination of the project. Members participate as partners, working alongside researchers and project teams, rather than as research participants.

Who are we looking for?

REMESOS is currently seeking:

  • One representative from Slovakia
  • One representative from Bosnia and Herzegovina

Applicants should:

  • Have lived experience of mental health challenges (current or past), or be carers / close supporters of someone with mental health challenges
  • Be a resident in Slovakia or Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Be able to take part in meetings conducted in English (perfect English is not required)

Please note that this opportunity is not aimed at researchers or mental health professionals participating in a professional capacity.

What does participation involve?

  • Review selected project documents and materials
  • Participate in 3–4 online discussion meetings per year, with the possibility of an in-person meeting in Brussels, Belgium
