As part of our contribution to European Week Against Cancer 2025, GAMIAN-Europe is proud to announce the launch of the Mental Health & Cancer Hub, a new digital platform designed to support individuals navigating the complex intersection of cancer and mental health.
Every year, millions of people across Europe face the life-altering challenge of a cancer diagnosis. While the physical aspects of cancer care are often prioritised, the psychological toll it takes on patients, carers, and families is too frequently overlooked. Mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders are highly prevalent among those affected by cancer, yet access to psycho-oncological services remains inconsistent and under-resourced.
The Mental Health & Cancer Hub was created to help close this gap.
This dedicated online resource provides accessible, up-to-date information and tools to help individuals better understand and manage the emotional and psychological impact of cancer.
What the Hub Offers:
Country-specific directories of psycho-oncological and mental health services to help users find support tailored to their location
Curated publications and news focused on the intersection of cancer and mental health, including lived experience accounts, professional guidance, and research findings
User-friendly access to support resources across more than 20 European countries, regularly updated and expanded in a step-by-step approach to ensure relevance and accuracy
Whether you are seeking professional help, looking for peer support, or simply trying to better understand the emotional dimensions of cancer, the Hub is designed to meet your needs. It also serves carers, friends, and family members who may need guidance in supporting their loved ones.
By centralising access to resources and services, GAMIAN-Europe aims to empower individuals, reduce stigma, and promote a more integrated, holistic model of care.
