Currently, the second leading cause of death in young people is suicide and each year, there are 900.000 suicides globally with 65,000 of these occurring in EU countries. 90% of suicide victims have been shown to have had a mental health condition.
Exploring suicidality
in LGBTQIA+ people
The issue of mental health difficulties among LGBTQIA+ youth is complex and urgent. These young people often face more challenges than their cisgender and heterosexual counterparts, especially when it comes to mental health conditions and a higher risk of suicidality.
